Creating Services
Services are the heart of your business on Kalism. This guide shows you how to create and configure services that clients can book.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
- ✅ A salon created (or multiple salons)
- ✅ Service names and descriptions ready
- ✅ Pricing information
- ✅ Estimated duration for each service
Step 1: Navigate to Salon
- Log in to your partner dashboard
- Click "Salons" in the left sidebar, and select your salon
- Click the "Add New Service" button
Step 2: Basic Service Information
Service Name
Choose a clear, descriptive name:
Good Examples:
- "Deluxe Haircut"
- "Balayage Color Treatment"
- "Beard Trim"
- "Deep Conditioning Treatment"
Avoid:
- Vague names: "Service 1"
- All caps: "HAIRCUT"
- Unclear abbreviations: "WMN CUT"
- Adding the person gender unless necessary as this will be set as another property to allow easier filtering
Service Description
Write a compelling description (100-200 words):

Our stylists will consult with you to understand your desired
look and provide expert advice on the best style for your
hair type and face shape.
Includes:
- Consultation (10 min)
- Wash and conditioning
- Precision cut
- Blow-dry and styling
Perfect for: Regular maintenance, new styles, or complete transformations
Step 3: Pricing
Set Your Price
- Enter the base price for the service
- Currency is automatically defaults to EUR but can be changed
- Consider your market, expertise level, and product costs
Pricing Tips:
- Research competitor pricing in your area
- Factor in product costs and time
- Don't undervalue your expertise
- Consider package deals for multiple services
Variable Pricing
If prices vary by hair length or complexity:
- Set a base price (e.g., "Women's Haircut from €45")
- Add notes in description: "Price varies by hair length"
- You can adjust price during booking if needed
Remember: you are in control of your pricing strategy, we just provide the tools to manage it effectively.
Step 4: Duration
Service Duration
Set the total time needed:
- Minimum: 15 minutes
- Maximum: 480 minutes (8 hours)
- Recommended: Be realistic - include prep and cleanup time
Duration Guidelines:
- Quick services (trim, blow-dry): 30-45 min
- Standard services (cut, basic color): 60-90 min
- Complex services (balayage, treatments): 120-180 min
Pro Tip: Add 10-15 minutes buffer time for consultations and cleanup!
Step 5: Service Category
Choose a category to help organize your services:
- Hair Cut & Styling
- Hair Coloring
- Hair Treatments
- Nails
- Makeup
- Skincare
- Waxing
- Massage
- Other
Step 6: Assign to Salons
Single Salon
If you have one salon, it's automatically assigned, as you should create the service from the salon.
Multiple Salons
Beta limitation: for now only one salon is allowed per company. Once multiple salons are supported, you'll be able to select which salons offer this service.
Choose which salons offer this service:
- Check the salons where this service is available
- You can set different prices per salon if needed
- Enable/disable service per salon
Example: You might offer "Premium Balayage" only at your flagship location.
Step 7: Save Service
- Review all information
- Click "Create Service"
- Service is now live and bookable!
Managing Your Services
Edit a Service
- Go to Services list
- Click the service name
- Make changes
- Click "Save Changes"
Delete a Service
Permanently remove:

- "Bridal Package" with multiple services
- Offer discount compared to individual prices

Always include:
- What's included in the service
- What's NOT included
- Who it's best for
- Estimated duration

"Service not showing for booking"
Check:
- ✅ Service is enabled
- ✅ Assigned to at least one salon
- ✅ At least one employee can perform it
- ✅ Salon has operating hours set
"Wrong price showing"
Solution: If you have salon-specific pricing, check the price override for each salon.
"Can't delete service"
Problem: Service has future appointments.
Solution: Wait until appointments are completed, or reassign them to a different service.
